Cobb Family Advocacy Center Grand Opening Ceremony

Decmeber 15, 2023

The Cobb Family Advocacy Center and the Cobb County District Attorney, Mr. Flynn Broady Jr. was thrilled to share the tremendous success of the grand opening of the Cobb FAC, an event that marked a significant milestone in our commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence, child/elder abuse, sexual assaults, human trafficking, and stalking in creating a safer community for all.

The atmosphere was charged with positivity and hope as community members, local leaders, advocates, and supporters came together to witness the inauguration of a dedicated space that will serve as a refuge for those affected by domestic and family violence. The event not only symbolized the culmination of years of hard work but also highlighted the collective strength and unity of our community in addressing this critical issue.

As we reflect on the success of the grand opening, we express our deepest gratitude to everyone who played a part in making this initiative a reality. Together, we have created a beacon of hope for those affected by domestic violence, and our commitment to fostering a safe and supportive community remains unwavering.

We invite you to stay engaged with our ongoing efforts to combat domestic violence, elder/child abuse, sexual assaults, human trafficking, and stalking and join us in creating a future where everyone can live free from fear.

The Power of Partnerships & Community Outreach:

September 2023

We are elated to share some incredible news that reaffirms the power of generosity and community support. Our Cobb Family Advocacy Center has been bestowed with an honorary donation from a dedicated sponsor and partner, the Kennesaw Public Safety Foundation and the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes committee. This remarkable act of kindness not only deepens our commitment to our cause but also serves as a beacon of hope for victims and survivors in need.

Cobb Family Advocacy Center Building Dedication Ceremony

On December 15, 2022, Cobb District Attorney Flynn D. Broady, Jr. announced the
groundbreaking for the first Family Advocacy Center in the state of Georgia. Modeled after
similar Family Justice Centers around the country, the Family Advocacy Center (FAC) will
provide much-needed services to members of our community.

The creation of the Cobb Family Advocacy Center was made possible due to the collaboration of
community partners including the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, County Manager Dr.
Jackie McMorris, LiveSafe Resources, Safepath Children’s Advocacy Center, Cobb County Police and Sheriff’s Department, Cobb Solicitor’s Office, Public Safety Director Randy Crider, Cobb Legal Aid, and many more community service agencies.

The Cobb FAC will provide victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking victims a centralized safe location to meet with organizations of their choosing. This may include law enforcement, receive assistance in obtaining Temporary Protective Orders, as well as receiving services such as counseling, housing, and employment assistance. Providing these already-established services in one location will greatly reduce the trauma and emotional harm suffered by the victims of these crimes and their
families.
